Media Release for the month of May 2010

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE MONTH

The GALA Ball starts the month of May in a flurry of ball gowns and tails. Saturday 1st May. 8pm at St John's Church Hall. A great night of lively and elegant dances to live music from The Capital Bush Band. Dress is colonial evening or After 5's. Please bring a plate of supper.

The month finishes with a bush dance too. Folklines will provide live music to dance the night away. Saturday 29th May, 8 pm at St John's Church Hall. Dress is neat casual. Please bring a plate of supper.

Both dances are value for money - just $16, or $12 for MFS members or concessions.

CLASSES

There are 5 bush dancing classes in May. Every Monday at All Saints Church Hall, from 8 - 10pm. Come along and learn a wide range of dances to live music.

The Monaro Folk Society is a Canberra-based non-profit community organisation that promotes active participation in the arts and community and social activities. The MFS is open to anyone who wants to be part of promoting and running, or simply enjoying, performance and dance.
