About the Calendar

The Calendar is for events of interest to MFS members. Any MFS member authorised by the membership secretary may update the calendar. Please forward your request for an account to update the calendar to Membership(at)mfs(dot)org(dot)au. In your email indicate your current member's wiki username or your preferred username. If approved ie you are a current MFS member with information to publish on this site a password will be emailed to you. This password should be changed via your preferences settings when you first log in.

Who is Authorised to Publish Here?

MFS members are encouraged to publish events to this calendar. Please note that this is the new format calendar running special software, and replaces the old interim events diary.

The events in this diary are copied to the Monaro Musings and Canberra Dance News publications, as well as being available on-line to everyone.

Non-MFS events are welcome, as long as the events are of interest to MFS members and the event organisers provide friendly reciprocal support for the Monaro Folk Society, for example encouraging their participants to join the society.

MFS members, including remote members, are welcome to publish here. If you are not yet a member, please see Joining_the_Monaro_Folk_Society. There are many benefits of membership including the society magazine "Monaro Musings" and access to the members-only MFS web site. If for some reason you have an event that is of interest to MFS members, but do not wish to join the society, please send an e-mail to the calendar coordinator <rlvngstn(at)grapevine(dot)com(dot)au> containing:

1) Event Id: time in 24hr clock basis, and very short name to appear in the calendar box, eg
20:00 Bush Dance Class

2) Summary: Shown in the events listing below the calendar, and in the Monaro Musings and Canberra Dance News summaries. Include date, venue, time, event name and essential information. If the venue is in the Venue Listing, please show the venue name as it appears in the list, eg Albert Hall. Example summary:
Mon 1 Feb 10 All Saints 8PM: MFS Bush Dance Class

3) Details: Any additional details, or the full event description. Details appear when the user follows the link in the calendar.

4) Category codes: Organiser Code, MFS, Dance (dance events), and/or Music (Merry Muse and other concerts etc).

In addition, if this is the first event for the event organiser, please provide details for the "Event Organiser Abbreviation" eg:

MFS-BDG: Bush Dance Group, http://www.mfs.org.au/mediawiki/index.php/Bush_Dance_Group, contact Bob Hodgson<bobhodgson(at)grapevine(dot)com(dot)au>

You can show phone number etc but please be aware you are publishing to a public web site. You may wish to disguise your email address as shown, to help fight spam.

Richard Levingston is the primary maintainer for this page. Changes may be e-mailed to me at <rlvngstn(at)grapevine(dot)com(dot)au> if you prefer, but I encourage everyone to have a go at editing it themselves. Just use the "Show preview" button until you get it right. Requests and suggestions (and any other discussion of the page) can also be left at the talk page for the Calendar.
